Theft over $5000 2011-11-14

Dallas Industrial Area Hit by Thieves

Over this past weekend of November 11th & 12th thieves hit the Dallas light industrial area and caused considerable amount of damage to a couple of businesses and vehicles. A white chevy pickup truck had been taken from the Merritt area and was used to smash down two locked compound gates and gained access to a compound next door. The truck from Merritt has been recovered in Kamloops. Once inside the suspects stole a 2009 Case Excavator that was loaded onto a flat deck trailer and removed from the compound. Before the vehicle left Kamloops, 2 large lumber tarps were taken from the Flying J truck stop, no doubt to cover the excavator. It appears a 2003 Green Ford pickup truck was stolen from the 7000 block of Dallas dr. was used to haul the excavator to the coast. The truck has been recovered in Hope BC but the excavator has not been recovered.

It is also interesting of note this Green Ford pickup is suspected in thefts that took place in Penticton BC over the weekend.

If you have any information on these thefts please contact Crime Stoppers, you will remain anonymous and will receive a cash reward once the suspect is arrested.
